Description
With 361 Degrees support, DevelopmentWA was able to deliver a 14-hectare redevelopment of approximately 700 new homes, including private, affordable and social housing, together with commercial opportunities and enhanced public open space.
361 Degrees developed and implemented the Stakeholder and Community Engagement Plan, providing strategic advice and day-to-day engagement support throughout planning, remediation, demolition, infrastructure delivery and construction phases. Our role included managing complex stakeholder relationships, responding to community concerns and implementing mitigation strategies to minimise construction impacts while maintaining community confidence in project delivery.
Project Outcomes
361 Degrees has delivered engagement across multiple phases of the redevelopment, including:
- Managing engagement for the remediation and demolition of the former Challenger TAFE site and ageing social housing, including proactive management of antisocial behaviour and community safety concerns.
- Supporting the preparation and promotion of the Local Structure Plan and facilitating community engagement in partnership with the City of Fremantle.
- Designing and delivering online and face-to-face engagement to inform the rejuvenation of Davis Park Public Open Space.
- Managing stakeholder engagement associated with major civil works, utility upgrades, power undergrounding and remediation activities affecting neighbouring residents and businesses.
- Facilitating a multi-agency Communications Working Group comprising State and Local Government representatives to coordinate project communications.
- Providing ongoing issues and complaints management, stakeholder briefings and targeted communications with residents, businesses, schools, childcare providers, community organisations, precinct groups and government agencies.
- Working proactively with local businesses, the Freo Farmers Market, support agencies and WA Police to minimise construction impacts and strengthen community safety and project outcomes.
- Coordinating community sponsorship initiatives to support local organisations throughout the redevelopment.
