Description

361 Degrees partners with IPPA to design and deliver Creative Minds, Creative Futures: Thinking Differently in the Public Sector program to the Western Australian Public Sector.

The workshop was developed to build the capabilities required of future public sector leaders, equipping graduates with confidence and practical tools to think creatively, address complex policy challenges and contribute innovative ideas within their agencies.

Using a contemporary public policy challenge centered on drug and alcohol rehabilitation services, participants are guided through an experiential learning journey that mirrors a policy and program design process.

Participants work in multidisciplinary teams to develop and pitch innovative solutions, applying persuasion, collaboration and strategic thinking skills while receiving feedback on executive decision-making and innovation in government.

Training Outcomes

The program strengthens participants’ confidence to think differently, take creative risks and contribute new ideas. Participants developed practical capabilities to:

  • Understand the social, political and organisational context that shapes public policy and decision-making
  • Identify emerging trends and opportunities on the periphery of current practice
  • Apply systems thinking and recognise the influence of different worldviews
  • Develop and communicate innovative policy solutions
  • Translate ideas into compelling narratives for consultation and engagement
  • Maintain momentum and resilience when leading change and innovation.

The workshop provides graduates with practical tools and mindsets to navigate complexity and contribute to a more innovative, adaptive and future-focused public sector.

The course is exclusively offered through IPPA at https://www.wa.ipaa.org.au/courses/creative-minds-creative-futures/
