361 Degrees partnered with Delos Delta to lead the stakeholder engagement and research component for the development of the Mid West Digital Economy Strategy, commissioned by the Mid West Development Commission. The Strategy identified opportunities to strengthen the region’s economy by improving digital capability, connectivity and infrastructure while supporting innovation, investment and regional resilience.

361 Degrees designed and delivered a comprehensive engagement program to capture the perspectives of industry, government, community organisations, businesses and residents from across the region. The team combined qualitative engagement with quantitative research to provide an evidence-based understanding of the region’s digital opportunities, barriers and future priorities.

The engagement explored opportunities to:

  • improve digital infrastructure and connectivity;
  • support businesses and communities to adapt to digital change;
  • attract investment and create local employment opportunities;
  • build digital capability and skills;
  • encourage innovation and technology adoption; and
  • improve digital inclusion while ensuring future investment reflected community values and regional priorities.

Project Outcomes

361 Degrees:

  • Developed and implemented the Stakeholder Engagement Plan to deliver an evidence-based engagement program that captured the priorities, aspirations and needs of government, industry, businesses and communities across the region.
  • Designed and facilitated stakeholder workshops, focus groups and online engagement activities across the Mid West region.
  • Prepared engagement materials including presentations, discussion guides, surveys and stakeholder briefing packs.
  • Managed a specialist market research company to integrate CATI survey findings with qualitative engagement outcomes.
  • Reviewed stakeholder feedback, survey results, existing research and infrastructure information to identify emerging themes and priorities and inform recommendations.
