Description
361 Degrees was engaged by Nyamba Buru Yawuru Ltd (Yawuru) to design and facilitate a strategic planning process across its five operating entities to develop a shared long-term vision, align strategic priorities and strengthen governance. The engagement was undertaken at a pivotal time as the Group prepared for its next phase of growth and transformation.
As the Prescribed Body Corporate representing the Traditional Owners of the land and waters around Rubibi (Broome), Yawuru plays a significant role in advancing cultural, social and economic outcomes for the Yawuru people and responding to emerging opportunities across the Kimberley region.
With an appreciation of the Kimberley region and the importance of balancing economic opportunities with the long-term aspirations of Yawuru people, country and culture, we designed and facilitated a culturally informed strategic planning process involving multiple Boards and senior executives from across the Group’s five entities.
Project Outcomes
Through collaborative workshops and strategic discussions, 361 Degrees supported the Boards and management team to:
- Develop a shared long-term vision and strategic priorities across all entities.
- Align governance, business and community objectives to support future growth.
- Strengthen governance and decision-making frameworks across the Group.
- Establish a common understanding of the Board’s risk appetite and risk management approaches.
- Identify measures of success and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Strengthen relationships and collaboration between Boards and management.
Importantly, the process created a safe and culturally respectful environment for strategic dialogue that enabled diverse perspectives to be heard and considered.
